Nisei Veterans Lake View Cemetery

Date: May 30, 2022

Members of Troop 60 and two other troops supported the Nisei Veterans Memorial Day Ceremony at Lake View Cemetery.

We honored the 56 American soldiers of Japanese ancestry from Seattle and vicinity who gave their lives during World War II.  These soldiers fought in many campaigns in World War 2, to include: Rome, Arno, North Apennines, Po Valley, Rhineland, Naples, Foggia, Ryukyus, Leyte, India, Burma, the Aleutian Islands and Guadalcanal.

Members of Troop 60 led the flag ceremony and played taps for this special event.

We were honored to serve as color guard for this event and got to meet a Japanese war hero who was awarded the Chevalier dans I’Ordre National de la Legion d’honneur, which is the France’s highest decoration for their courageous and heroic acts during World War II.
