Pistol Shooting Range 2024
Date: March 1-3, 2024
Some members joined Castlemania at Camp Pigott. We shot several different .22 pistols and then 9mm pistols. The .22 was fun, but the 9mm took it to the next level. Scouts had a blast shooting different 9mm pistols.
For Pistol Shooting in the BSA, this is generally a special Council Event, as this one was, and Scouts need to be 14 years old and older. Some RSOs require that Scouts pass the NRA Basic Pistol Course prior to shooting pistols larger than .22 caliber. Scouts interested in NRA Basic Courses should come talk to our Troop 60 Shoot Sports Team.
Troop 60 Adult staff provided Medical Coverage and Shooting Sports Staff.
Evening events included board games to include Catan.
We used several different .22 Ruger Mark 4 Pistols
Each had a different sight and other mods

Shooting Cards
Besides shooting Plinker Targets, we also got a chance to shoot at cards. Many ended up being obliterated by shooters. Many Scouts and Adults took home cards they shot as souvenirs
