Scout Sunday 2024

Date: February 11, 2024

Per Aaron on Scouting:

Through the celebrations known as Scout Sunday, Scout Sabbath and Scout Jumuah, Scouts can reflect on their faith and the 12th point of the Scout Law.

Any weekend in February is appropriate for reminding your Scouts to focus on reverence; however, many units choose to reflect on their faith on the nationally suggested day.

According to the BSA’s Calendar of Religious Observances, the three observances will fall on the same weekend this year. Scout Sunday will be Feb. 11; Scout Sabbath, the Jewish observance, will be Feb. 9 and 10; and Scout Jumuah, the Islamic observance, will be Feb. 8 and 9.

Every unit can celebrate these days as they choose — you can attend a worship service wearing a full field uniform, participate in a worship service or conduct a service project for a religious organization. Check with your local religious leaders before making any plans.

Scout Service

Some Churches have a Special Scout Sunday Service.  Scouts from this church weren't able to perform Scout Sunday in their Church this year because someone recently set their Church on fire.  The Nisei Vets let us use their building to conduct our Scout Sunday Service and hopefully our church will be rebuilt in time for Scout Sunday next year.
