What do you do with our Lock?

Mr. B told me to get a U-Lock.  This is big and clunky and where am I supposed to put it?  Why didn't he recommend a folding or cable lock?

So, a U-Lock is the best type of lock.  It weighs less than a folding lock or chain with comparable security.  As as you may have discovered, it can be a pain to carry.  I probably came with a mount, but it often takes up the space where your water bottles go.  

Don't fret, there are many options for carrying a U-Lock.

Lock Frame Mounts

Your lock most likely came with a frame mount.  Come talk to our bike team and we'll show you how to set it up.  If it interferes with your water bottle placement, the water bottles can be moved to the rear of your seat, handlebars or somewhere else on your frame.

With a little creativity, we can mount your U-Lock with your water bottles.

If the frame mount that came with the lock doesn't quite work for your setup, there are other frame mounts out there

• Strap

  • You can use straps (ideally stretchy ones) to secure your lock anywhere you like on your frame

    • Just make sure strapped on gear doesn't impact pedaling or steering

You can buy or make a holster that your lock slides into.  The holster can be mounted under a frame rail, to the side of the frame, behind your seat, on a cargo rack or anywhere you can make one fit

Can't Get U-Lock to Mount on Bike?

Depending on your setup, maybe a U-Lock just isn't the right fit.  Consider getting a Folding Lock.  Select one with Gold Rating or better.  It will weigh more, but will be easier to mount on an unused part of your frame or be tucked into a seat of frame bag.
