Chartered in 1959, Boy Scout Troop 60 has a proud tradition of developing young leaders through more than 65 years of Scouting.

While every Scouting America troop follows the same program guidelines, each troop brings its own approach to achieving Scouting's goals. At Troop 60, we believe the best way to develop citizenship, leadership, and character is through Adventure and hands-on Outdoor Experiences. By challenging Scouts to explore, learn new skills, work as a team, and take on responsibilities, we help prepare them to become confident, capable leaders.

We LOVE adventure, and our adventures are EPIC! It's one of the biggest reasons Scouts and Scouters choose Troop 60. We believe that the best Scouting experiences happen outdoors, where young people can challenge themselves, develop new skills, build friendships, and create memories that last a lifetime.

We organize at least one Primary Outing every month, along with a separate High Adventure Program each year.

Our Primary Outings are chosen by the Scouts each August, giving them a direct voice in shaping the year's adventures. Activities range from backpacking, cycling, and canoeing to specialized experiences such as rock climbing, shooting sports, and wilderness survival. There's always something new to explore, a skill to master, and another adventure waiting just around the corner.

Pacific Coast 2015

Our High Adventure Program focuses on building teamwork, developing outdoor skills, and preparing Scouts for our major High Adventure outing each summer. The program rotates through backpacking, biking, and canoeing, giving Scouts the opportunity to experience a different type of adventure each year. This keeps the program fresh and exciting while allowing Scouts to build on their skills, take on new challenges, and grow in confidence as they prepare for bigger adventures.

Adult Guided and Scout Led Troop

Adult Leaders and Mentors

We are blessed to have a team of dedicated Adult Leaders and Mentors.

Skills and backgrounds include Mountain/Expedition Guiding, Fish and Wildlife, Cycling, Backpacking, Military, EMS, Hospital and Wilderness Medicine, Fieldcraft, Outdoor Ethics, Shooting Sports, Watercraft, Aquatics, SCUBA, Culinary Arts, World Scouting, IT, Sales and even Clamming.

Many of our Adult Leaders are Instructors for our Council Wilderness First-Aid, Winter Adventure Skills, Shooting Sports and Leadership programs.

Our Adult Leaders share their knowledge with our Scouts, keep them out of harms way and serve as role models as Scouts develop their own leadership and team skills.

Adults also serve a safety role on both local and remote Adventures.
At least two trained adults attend every outing and provide medical and safety support as needed.

Troop 60 IS Scout Led

Scouts learn how to work as a team and become leaders through experiential learning, watching older Scouts and Adult Leaders, through success as well as through failure. Our Scouts learn by doing.

Troop meetings are planned and conducted by the youth leaders, under the coaching and guidance of the Scoutmaster and our Trained Adult Scouters.

Our Annual Plan is developed by our Youth Leadership each August, while the fourth Tuesday of each month is reserved for our Patrol Leaders Council (PLC) meeting.

Troop 60 meets at St. Pius X School from 7:45-9:00 pm each Tuesday of the month. St. Pius X School is located in Mountlake Terrace just off of Exit 179 on I-5 at 220th St SW.

Scouts who live outside of our local area have selected Troop 60 over other units to learn leadership, go on fun outings and because of all the wonderful people in our Troop. We welcome Scouts from Shoreline to Everett and beyond.

Troop 60 Instructor Shelters

We love adventure, and we enjoy sharing that passion with others. Chances are, you may have already met some of our Scouts and adult leaders along the way!

Troop 60 Scouts and adults help staff many of the High Adventure training programs serving the Mount Baker and Chief Seattle Councils. Teaching others is also a great way to sharpen our own skills. By sharing our knowledge and experience, we help prepare Scouts, Scouters, and other units to confidently take on adventures of their own. It's another way we put the spirit of Scouting into action while strengthening the greater Scouting community.
